Tutors are chosen after a rigorous selection process, including an extensive group interview in which they are required to teach a short lesson assessing their subject knowledge depth and their ability to communicate and share that knowledge with others. Successful candidates attend a training seminar where good practice procedures in schools are discussed to help embed the tutor in to your school.
Once candidates have passed the recruitment stage and received their DBS clearance, they can start applying to teach projects in schools. We shortlist tutors according to the relevance of their experience to the tuition requirements, and we encourage schools to meet tutors for a short interview before the start of the tuition programme.
We have years of experience in successfully placing hundreds of tutors in schools all around London and we are continuously evaluating their progress through regular lesson observations and feedback.
Our tutors come from a variety of backgrounds, however what they all have in common is a robust knowledge of their subject and a passion for teaching. As well as having a talent for instilling an interest in difficult subjects, they teach pupils to become efficient and independent learners. All our tutors hold an Enhanced DBS certificate issued within the past two years.
